WHEN DOES IT ALL BEGIN?
There are many enjoyable pre-ballet/ dance activities incorporating rhythm, music and developing coordination. But the serious study of classical ballet begins between 8-12 years old, when some students are evaluated to be motivated, and physically and mentally ready for the discipline, strenuous work, as well as, for the math of ballet.

The age at which classical instruction begins is not as important as making a good start with a good teacher, and being able to concentrate on, and for the duration of, the activities.

Regular participation, persistence, and much repetition and practice makes a dancer, but there are many additional benefits to the study of dance that produce good habits for life.
